Description

Corbin now offers two versions of our Classic Solo seat and two different pillion pad options for your passenger. The uniquely styled Classic Solo looks excellent while providing an extraordinary amount of rider comfort. Corbin’s seating platform conforms to the shape of your body for better support and more square inches of body contact. This is one of the secrets of long range comfort and is a staple of Corbin design. For added back support it also accepts an optional rider’s backrest that provides an additional nine inches of vertical support.

Got reach issues on your Bagger? We also make a “Close” version of the Classic solo that provides seating almost two inches closer to the bars for an easier reach. We’ve also made the nose a little narrower to allow for easier ground reach. To figure out which design is best for you, just follow these simple steps: Sit on the motorcycle in your regular riding posture and have a friend measure from the threaded hole in your fender to the area where you are seated. Now compare this measurement: 14 inches use our Classic Solo, 15.75 inches use our Close Solo.

Both Classic solo and Close solo accept a removable rider’s backrest for added support. Our backrest installs easily into hardware concealed inside the saddle for a very clean look. In order to fit a wide range of riders, it is fully angle adjustable. Just install the backrest into the saddle, lock it in place with a single setscrew and adjust the backrest angle to suit.

For maximum versatility we’ve designed the Corbin solo saddles to work with two different style passenger pillion seats. For a sly, low profile look the 50’s style pillion is the choice. This model is great for occasional passengers that ride with you on short to medium length trips. If your passenger wants touring class comfort, then our Touring Pillion is the choice for you. This model offers a wider seating area for more square inches of body contact. All components work with a variety of H-D accessories and options like the “detachable” sissy bars and the Tour Pac models.

Shaping of the Classic Solo and Touring Pillion is designed to emulate the contour of your body. This gives excellent support for longer-range comfort. Our neutralized seating also helps to curb sliding in the saddle, which greatly reduces rider fatigue. Inside, the saddle is built up with our exclusive Comfort Cell® foam for a firm, supportive ride that lasts. Corbin saddles feel firm when you first ride on them, but this firmness is what supports your body and maintains the correct shape. Over time, Comfort Cell® will break in and provide a personalized fit to your body for even greater comfort.

For an added bit of luxury, both the Classic Solo saddle and Close Solo have the option of electric heated seating. You’ll be amazed how a heated seat can raise your core body temperature during one of those chilly rides. This system easily wires directly to your Harley’s fusebox and provides two levels of heat with the flip of a switch. Heater unit and automated controller are built into the saddle and come preinstalled. Two-position switch is conveniently located on the left side of the seat.

Corbin’s Ovalbac series backrests come covered to match your saddle, but also offer the option of custom finishing plates on the rear. Backrests come standard with ABS leather look backing plate but you can choose a carbon-fiber look or even a paintable model at no added charge. For a little extra we offer pre-painted gloss black or a chromed steel model that coordinates perfectly with the look of the bike. If you’d like to add a bit of storage without running a trunk, you may want to check out the Corbin Glovebox that bolts up to your backrest in place of a finishing plate.

Saddles and backrests include genuine leather seating panels in your choice of colors and styles. Leather provides a luxurious perch that breathes with your body enhancing comfort value. Leather will also break in along with the foam shape in support of the personalized fit. In the side panels we use a coordinating vinyl material to keep the saddle looking sharp longer and support the foam shape. We also include the option of chrome studs at no additional charge (be sure to specify when ordering). Leather seating will perform for years and add value to your Corbin investment. Over time it will develop its own unique character just like your leather jacket. Be sure to care for it properly with a quality conditioner like Corbin’s Saddle Cream to keep the hide supple and weather resistant.

Accessory Info: Designed to work in conjunction with one of the Tour Pacs or Sissy Bar systems available from Harley-Davidson. Our cool Smuggler Streamliner trunk works in place of the HD Tour Pacs for a smoother, more aerodynamic look. In the animation above, we show two different “detachable” sissy bar backrests from Harley and the Detachable Trunk setup. Here’s the details:

Detachable Short Sissy Bar #52935-04. This model works with either pillion seat along with the HD pad.

Detachable Tall Sissy Bar #52933-97A. This model works with the Harley-Davidson pad or with a coordinated Corbin backrest pad #RK-PAD.

Detachable Tour Pak Rack #53276-04. This is the rack to use if you want the trunk BEHIND your passenger. You can use the Corbin Streamliner Trunk, the HD Chopped Tour Pak or the HD King Tour Pak. Streamliner trunk includes a coordinated passenger pad. If you use one of the HD Tour Pacs, we offer a coordinated passenger pad. For the King Tour Pak, choose our low profile passenger pad #502 or a full Trunk Armrest #132 for maximum copilot comfort. For the Chopped Tour Pak, our low profile pad works excellent.

Detachable Tour Pak Rack #53260-02. This is the rack to use if you want the trunk located in place of a passenger seat. Again, you can use the Corbin Streamliner Trunk, the HD Chopped Tour Pak or the HD King Tour Pak with the backrest pads as outlined above

Unique Technology
The design and manufacture of Corbin products is so unique that Mike Corbin himself holds more than 60 United States Patents! From the process itself to new innovations like the Corbin Glovebox, you can count on highly functional and unique products that work. Corbin products are manufactured under one or more of the following US Patents: 6,848,156 B2; 6,729,516 B2; D 489,540S; 6,655,740 B1; 6,422,648 B1; 5,544,937; 5,608,957; 4,953,911; D545,073S & 6,971,714 B1.

Fibertech™ Basepan
A purpose built, hybrid material that provides a firm foundation to support the carefully designed ergonomics of the Corbin saddle. Provides a precision fit to every arc and contour of the machine and rides on rubber bumpers to protect your paint. We always design our basepans as flat as possible so bumps or odd shapes don’t telegraph through the foam to your body.

Comfort Cell® Foam
The heart of the Corbin saddle! Our exclusive, purpose built foam material, called Comfort Cell, was created to provide a firm, resilient ride that doesn’t break down. This means it will support you for long days on the road. Over time, Comfort Cell will break in to provide a personalized fit to your posture and even greater comfort!

Ergonomic Shaping
A major part of the design criteria of the Corbin saddle is the Ergonomic shape. This means the saddle’s foam shape is designed to emulate the curves of the human body. This provides more square inches of body contact and helps to eliminate hot spots. This shaping also neutralizes the seating platform to help curb sliding in the saddle which reduces fatigue.

Patented Manufacturing Technology
Always an innovator, Mike Corbin invented Integrated Molding technology which is now the process by which all Corbin saddles are made. This process allows extremely tight tolerances and creates a chemical bond between the foam and base material. To see what this is all about.

Genuine Leather
We use leather in all panels of the seat that contact your body. This provides a luxurious ride that breathes with your body. Leather will also break in along with the foam shape to support the personalized fit. Available in a wide range of textures and styles to suit your taste.

Corbin Backrest System
The first and most versatile removable backrest system available for motorcycles! Corbin’s backrests provide added vertical back support and long range comfort. Supported by internal hardware for a very clean look. Backrests adjust to rider’s profile for a tailored fit and install or remove easily as desired. A very popular option!

Key lock Installation
This saddle model uses a new mounting system designed by Corbin to allow installation and removable with a simple key lock. Once the included brackets are installed, the saddle can be removed easily by just inserting and turning the key.

Electric Heat
As an option we can include electric heat in this saddle! This option provides a true bit of luxury for when the temperature starts to drop. Simple to install with major components pre-built into the saddle. Just wire in the included pigtail and you’re ready to roll.

Warning! Heater elements should never be installed in motorcycle seats used by riders that cannot sense heat.

Notes

Measurements:

  • Classic Solo seating: 13.5″ wide x 17″ long
  • Close Solo seating: 13″ wide x 15″ long
  • Rider back support w/ #02-S: 11″
  • Hollywood Pillion: 7.5″ wide x 10″ long
  • Touring Pillion: 12″ wide x 11″ long

Classic solo installs on a new keylock system. All brackets and required hardware is included so it’s ready to go right out of the box.

Pillion saddle installs with a keyed stud at the rear and is held down by the Corbin Solo Saddle. All brackets are included.

During Installation: The rear bracket should be left loose enough to be moveable and in the forward position. The rear of the seat needs to be put in place and the saddle moved towards the rear until the pin is lined up exactly in the center of the lock hole, NOT locked yet. Then the saddle should be removed, the rear bracket tightened in the predetermined position, then it can be locked on. This procedure ensures that the pin is in the correct position for easy removal.

Corbin saddles (with very few exceptions) include Genuine Leather Seating to provide a luxurious look and feel….   don’t let anybody tell you that vinyl is just as good! You wouldn’t buy vinyl boots would you?

Warning: Heater elements (when available) should never be installed in motorcycle seats that will be used by riders that cannot sense heat. This could create a hazardous condition.
